Oh Hello! and Welcome to my blOg! Baking is a huge passion of mine. My blog documents my baking adventures, some healthy, some not even close, and my daily bumblings while I’m living abroad. Enjoy!

It all started back when I was about 2 years old with my mom. She loved to bake and I loved to watch, well in all honesty I liked to sneak little tastes when she wasn’t looking. My favorite place was on a tall stool so I could watch everything that was happening. At around eight years old I had several of my favorite recipes memorized and would bake all summer long. My absolute favorite was ooey gooey brownies fresh from the oven. I loved how the smell wafted through our home and made your mouth water. My mom always joked that pumpkin muffins was the only sure way to get me out of bed on a Saturday morning.

As I grew older my passion for baking didn’t die. I started baking up a storm when I was in college. One time I stayed up till 2 am making a 9 layer cake for one of my best friend’s birthdays. I absolutely love it and love the joy it brings to people.

In 2013, I moved to Paris for a year to study French pastry at Le Cordon Bleu. I absolutely loved my experience there and would recommend it to anyone. After I graduated I did a 3 month stage at La Fabrique a Gateaux in the Republique area. It was just me and two incredible women chefs in the kitchen, one of which I started calling Dude. I stayed up until 4 days before my visa was up, not wanting to leave the city I had started calling home. After spending a year back in Texas working for an incredible French pastry shop called Bisous Bisous Patisserie and Scardello Cheese, a fantastic cheese shop, I’m back in France. Currently I’m helping a cooking school in Paris.



This is Peanut aka Mr Nut, Nutter Butter, Bud, or just plain Nut. My love, I miss him every day! While I’m abroad he’s bunking down with my parents in Texas and giving their dog, Watson, a run for the money.

These are a Few of My Favorite Things:

•The smell of something baking in the oven

•Exclamation marks!!!!!!! I use far too many. It’s a little ridiculous.


•Traveling – I love going somewhere I’ve never been before and experiencing the culture, food, and history. On the list: Greece, Egypt, Costa Rica, Peru, Thailand…A couple of my vacay photos..

•Clean Sheets – seriously, what’s better.. (sigh)

•Birthdays! Because it gives me a great excuse to make a cake.

•Running/Yoga/Biking/Hiking/Kayaking – I love being outdoors!

• How it smells after it rains or going to sleep to the sound of rain on my windows

•Doctor Who is my absolute Favorite TV show!

•I’ve developed a love for cows the past year? What can I say? They’re crazy cute! (Especially this Scottish one!)


The absolutely best part of baking is the joy it brings to people. There is nothing better than seeing a smile creep across someone’s face when they taste a dessert I have made. 🙂 Happy Baking!

    Hi Molly! I love your blog. Peanut is so cute. I LOVE avocado too. Believe it or not, I’m 52 and just started eating it this year. It was a taste I had to acquire. I love love love healthy and organic foods. So much so, that I am now in the business of organics. I’ll check out your blogs on a regular basis.

      Wow! I LOVE avocado. If you like frozen yogurt, I would definitely recommend getting it in avocado flavor. yumm!! And doesn’t organic food make such a difference in taste? Love it! Thanks for your kind words!

    I Want to know about the school. My daughter is about to begin in September and still looking for the best school for her in Paris. Could you give us your opinion about le cordon bleu vs ferrandi or le Notre ?

      Hi Christine! How exciting! From my experience I can tell you that the Cordon Bleu and Ferrandi have similar international experiences to where you watch a demonstration and then make what you learned. Ferrandi advertises a bit more physical time in the kitchen. Both are exceptional. The big difference I would say to really think about is where she might want to be based after school. If it’s internationally, the Cordon Bleu is held in high acclaim worldwide- but no one really knows about it in France. Ferrandi is completely the opposite- it’s held in very high regard here in France but isn’t as well know around the world. This is really useful to think about when applying for jobs.
